A beautiful, old French 'clocking in' label made from galvanised zinc with creamy coloured card inserts.
This vintage label was used to track materials coming in and out of an old workshop or factory in France. The zinc holder contains a number of pieces of card on which are numerous notes and records made in lovely, delicate handwriting. I imagine it hanging on the wall in the workshop, waiting to be used.
It has a really lovely patina made up of flecks of paint, scratches and scuffs and little marks. I love the cream and zinc tones together and think it would look lovely hung as part of a gallery wall or as part of a table display. It measures:
