A beautiful, moody, oil on canvas portrait of a bearded old man. The artist and date is unknown but it's likely that this piece dates from the late 19th/early 20th century.
I fell in love with this unframed painting's dark, simple colour palette, it’s hauntingly beautiful subject and authentic, rustic feel. It has a weathered appearance with a few marks, some patches of paint missing on his face and the damaged patch of canvas at the top of his head. For me though, these imperfections just add to it's character and moody beauty.
