A delicate and pretty, antique French religious print which celebrates the baptism and first communion in the late 1800s of a young French boy called Francois Edom.
The print is believed to date from the 1870s and shows Christ shining his light over a group of worshippers being baptised in a beautiful church. It carries two handwritten notes at the bottom which commerate the baptism of a Francois Edom in 1874 and then his first communion in 1883.
This lovely old print would no doubt have been hung in Francois Edom's home by his parents to bring blessings to their young child. There is a small hook at the top from which the print can be hung and to which is still attached an old piece of string with a worn nail caught in it. This may even have been the original nail that Francois' parents used to hang this piece in their home. A truly lovely piece of personal French history.
The frame and print are in a good antique condition with some marks and scuffs in keeping with this piece's age.
