A lovely, vintage English sketch of an old lady framed in a reddy/brown wooden frame. The sitter has a lovely pensive expression and it seems like quite a personal portrait - maybe a painting of a grandmother by a grandchild...
The glass has long been lost and could be replaced but we liked the rustic feel that this gives. We also fell in love with the tones of this piece - the pencil drawing sits really nicely against the dark tones of the frame and the creamy paper which has little brown flecks across it - no doubt caused by age and exposure to the air over time.
This drawing could be hung, if some simple tacks were added to the back of the frame, or just looks lovely propped on a shelf or table top. It measures:
H38cm x W33.5cm x D2cm
