A lovely, old hessian French grain sack with beautiful stencilling and character.
The name of the company it was owned by 'PRADAUDE' and it's location 'ST.DIZIER LEYRENNE CREUSE' is stencilled on the front. The stencilling also tells us the sack was made in 1968 and was used for 'GRAINS'.
St Dizier is located in the Limousin region in the centre of France. Pradaude was the name of the grain merchant whose premises were located opposite the now disused railway station on Rue de la Gare in the town. These sacks were discovered and salvaged by recent new owners of the old Pradaude property.
This vintage sack has a few small holes and signs of general wear and tear in keeping with it's age and use. A lovely, decorative piece which would make a great wall hanging or rustic backdrop for a table display.
