A beautiful, old school blackboard, dating from the early 1900s.
This lovely old blackboard, used by children to practice their writing skills, has a series of light white lines across it and a pretty wooden frame. The letters 'SBL' have been carved in the bottom section of the frame; I suspect these are the initials of the school or child it once belonged to.
It has a lovely rustic patina with marks and scrapes on the board and frame and the old nail heads poking through the corners of the latter.
A lovely piece which would make a great decorative item propped on a shelf and could also still be used with chalk, as a message board or for a child to practice their writing on!
