These beautiful old French bottles probably date from the late 19th Century and were likely to have been used in an old apothecary to store medicines or herbal remedy. They've still got their original, old cork stoppers, which can be easily removed, and one has '1 LITRE' imprinted on the glass, a unit of measurement which first emerged in France in the late 1700s.
The glass is mottled and and worn but there are no cracks or chips on either bottle. These could be put to great use in a kitchen or could be styled with foraged pieces or even used as a vase for your fresh stems or dried seed heads.
