An unframed, Giclée, fine art print of one of my favourite still life images from my own work. I love the simplicity and rustic texture of old bobbins and making these simple things look beautiful in a fine art photograph like this brings me a lot of joy.
A Giclée print is a high quality, gallery level print. The word Giclée (pronounced ‘jee-klay’ with a soft j), comes from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray" and it was first used in the 1990s as printers evolved their processes for the digital photography age. My prints are printed by a specialist, fine art printer on Hahnemühle Bamboo fine art paper. This is a thick, gallery quality paper with a smooth finish and outstanding colour reproduction. Bamboo represents naturalness and resource-saving paper production. It is made from 90% Bamboo fibres and 10% cotton, thus combining photography with environmental friendliness; something which is very important to me and my business.
