A wonderful, antique wooden pot full of rustic character. Originally from Tibet, this beautiful pot transports me to the wild Himalayan mountains. A place of freedom, beautiful cold sunrises, icy morning air that hurts the back of your throat, earthy textures and rich woody, campfire smells. To me, it embodies a simpler time and a more primitive, rustic way of life.
Once used to make curd, this slender pot has a wonderful earthy smell and the most beautiful marks and scrapes from years of use. Handcrafted from wood with a lovely, dark brown tone, it has a very simple design, with just two small holes at the top, presumably so that it could be hung. There is a small crack towards the base of the pot but no need for repair. This is such a unique, decorative piece which would look wonderful styled with dried stems or simply displayed alone. It measures:
H23cm x D11cm
