A beautiful and unique, vintage Japanese basket consisting of a wooden frame with paper walls weaved across it.
The paper walls of this pretty basket have been dyed in a deep greeny black and have beautiful, black Japanese script written all over them. There is a white paper label on one corner, again with beautiful script on it and a rope has been attached across the bottom and over the top of the basket to secure it. The paper on the inside has a beautiful rusty tone and also has gorgeous Japanese script written all over it.
This beautiful, ethereal piece has such character and charm. The paper is very worn around the top edge and in patches elsewhere which gives it such a lovely rustic patina. It is a lightweight and delicate basket but is still sturdy enough to be used to store things in your home such as linens or maybe magazines.
